Itinerary

Your adventure begins as you depart for the land where history, philosophy, and mythology were born. (I/F)

Arrive in vibrant Athens and step into a living museum of Western civilization. Visit the Acropolis, crowned by the Parthenon—an architectural masterpiece symbolizing the height of classical Greece. Explore ancient temples dedicated to Athena and discover how mythology, art, and democracy shaped the modern world. Stand atop Areopagus, overlooking the city below. This is the famous Mars' Hill, where the Apostle Paul delivered his soul-stirring sermon to the giants of philosophy, logic, and learning and spoke about the inscription: “to an unknown god." It remains one of the most powerful viewpoints in Athens—both visually and historically. Evening: We will enjoy a welcome dinner in the heart of Athens and check in to our superior hotel, Acropolis Hill Hotel, where you will be able to see a stunning view of the site you just visited. This morning, we will travel along the stunning Saronic Gulf to the famous Corinthian Canal. After a short photo stop, we will drive to the city of Corinth, once one of the richest cities in the ancient world. Walk through bustling marketplaces, temples, and civic centers that reveal a city built on trade, influence, and ambition. We will visit the area where the Apostle Paul lived and worked, establishing a thriving church and later sending two of his New Testament letters. We will see all of the sites associated with Ancient Greece and Paul’s ministry: the Agora, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon, the Bema, and Gallio’s Seat. Our time in Corinth will end with a visit to the archaeological museum. Return to Athens for the evening. Acropolis Hill Hotel (B)

Today is a free day. Enjoy Athens your way—shop, explore museums, or relax in charming cafés beneath the Acropolis. This morning, we will travel to the legendary Delphi, once believed to be the center of the universe. We will walk the sacred grounds of Apollo’s sanctuary, where ancient leaders sought guidance that shaped empires. We will visit the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, and the archaeological museum, containing such masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture, such as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Our journey continues through breathtaking mountain scenery to the ancient city of Kalambaka, one of the most beautiful towns in all of Greece. Grand Meteora Hotel (B)

Discover the awe-inspiring Meteora, where monasteries appear to float above the earth. Built by monks seeking solitude and spiritual devotion, these UNESCO-listed structures are unlike anything else on earth. These veritable Byzantine monasteries exhibit superb icons and manuscripts from the 14th century. After our visit, we will continue on to Berea where the Apostle Paul arrived and, according to his custom, went to the synagogue and discovered ‘to his pleasant surprise’ that these Jews he had encountered in Thessaloniki were "searching the scriptures." We will see the Byzantine mosaic in the monument commemorating Paul’s preaching. Continue to Thessaloniki in the late afternoon for overnight stay. Golden Star Hotel (B)

Today, we will explore Philippi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with Roman ruins, basilicas, and ancient roads. We will see the Lion statue of Amphipolis and then visit the site where Paul established a church and see the river where Lydia is said to have been baptized. We will also visit the prison where Paul and Sylas were jailed, the Agora, the 5th and 6th century Basilica, and the ancient theater. After the visit, we will continue to Kavala, a stunning seaside city with amphitheater-like architecture rising above the Aegean. Here, we enjoy a panoramic tour before returning to Thessaloniki. Today, we will enjoy a city tour of Thessaloniki, a vibrant coastal city layered with Roman, Byzantine, and modern history. This is where Paul went immediately to the synagogue and for three Saturdays explained the prophecies of the Old Testament to Jews and Greeks. According to the Book of the Acts, many Greeks and even many “Greek chief women” believed. We visit the upper Old City Walls and then drive along the Egnatian Way to see the Triumphal Arch of Galerius and the Rotunda. We will also visit the famous White Tower and the Church of Saint Demetrios—a masterpiece of sacred architecture and mosaic art. Return to Thessaloniki. Golden Star Hotel (B,D)

This morning, we will drive to Ouranoupolis and board a cruise along the west coast of Mount Athos, also known as the Holy Mountain. Cruise starting time: 10:30 a.m. Enjoy majestic moments on board as you explore the southwest side of the Mount Athos peninsula, a UNESCO World HeritageSite. Admire the wild beauty of the landscape and the remarkable achievements of the monks who, more than a thousand years ago, managed to construct these spectacular buildings — monasteries resembling castles, sketes like small villages, and arsanades that serve as their ports. After the cruise, we will transfer to a nearby beach for swimming, followed by time for lunch before returning to Thessaloniki. This evening, we will fly to Mykonos. Today, we will explore whitewashed streets, iconic windmills, and the charming harbor of Little Venice. An escort will explain Venetian rule of Mykonos, the island’s wind-powered flour industry, the winds of the Cyclades. Then we will drive to Ano Mera and visit Panagia Tourliani Monastery. At the end of our tour, we will drive to Kalafatis Beach. You will then return to Mykonos, where you will enjoy a late lunch in Mykonos town. Transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Mykonos. Today is a free day. Option 1: Free day at the beach. Option 2: Ferry to the Island of Delos to explore one of the most important mythological and archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. Walk through ancient temples, marble streets, and sacred ruins that once formed a powerful religious center. Delos is said to be the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. You can explore the Terrace of the Lions, the Sanctuary of Apollo, the ancient theatre, and the Sacred Way, all a part of the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. We will take a high speed ferry to Santorini, one of the most photographed destinations in the world. Upon arrival, we will visit the Winery of Santorini · Visit the Wine Museum · A taste of 4 different types of Wines from our Winery in 4 different glasses · Breadsticks with cheese, tomato, feta cheese, and olive flavors along with dark chocolate. Finally, we will check into our hotel with the rest of the day free to explore or just relax by pool and shop. Overnight at EL Greco Hotel. ( B/tasting from Winery)

Today’s highlight is sailing through the dramatic caldera, swimming in volcanic waters, and enjoying a freshly prepared onboard meal. Pick up time for the Catamaran cruise approximately at 2:30 pm. Sail at 3:00 pm. First stop at the Red Beach* for swimming and snorkeling. Second stop at the White Beach* for swimming and for the barbeque onboard. Sail past Aspronisi, Ancient Lighthouse, Akrotiri and Indian Rock. Third stop at Hot Springs volcano for swimming. Last stop below the picturesque village of Oia to watch the sunset. Tour ends at Ammoudi port *stops depend on weather and cannot be directly on the beach but they try to get as close as possible. Guests need to bring warm clothes in case it’s windy. We will have a free morning to swim or shop in Fira, and this afternoon, we will stroll through whitewashed streets, boutique shops, and cliffside cafés of Oia. For flight changes or cancellations, revision fees and/or airline cancellation charges will apply. Roommates canceling can result in a single supplement charge for the roommate. The Participant who cancels will be responsible for that charge if a substitute roommate cannot be found. Cancellation and Interruption Insurance is strongly recommended.
